Work across many places
Computing and participation can happen across independent machines and people.
Projects for a distributed, cooperative future. Disco* is a collection of projects built under the idea of being DIStributed and COoperative. The star leaves room for whatever comes next.
Many machines. Shared work. No single center.
Disco* is a home for projects that put distributed systems and cooperation to work. The name is a small brief: DIStributed, COoperative—and the asterisk says the work can take many forms.
Computing and participation can happen across independent machines and people.
Shared infrastructure makes room for many contributors to take part.
The collection can grow into new projects as people find useful ways to cooperate.
At the center of the effort is a distributed inference project: the Disco Network. It is the backbone that gives disco* its shared computing foundation.
Inference is the starting point for a broader cooperative computing effort. The network’s distributed design connects independent resources so the work can be shared across participants.
One backbone. A growing collection of projects. An open invitation to build.
